Difficult not to start reading...

I am having trouble not jumping the gun and starting our first book.  I want to do this right which is why I think waiting until May 1 is the best idea.  It gives us all a chance to get the book ready and it also allows time for more people to join in on the fun.

I have the book in my hands though (actually on my Kindle) and its not like me to not read it.  I need something else to do instead so I will be grabbing another book.

With that in mind I was wondering what you favorite book is.  Why?

Also, whats the worst book you have ever read?

For me nothing beats The Hitchhikers Guide books.  I love every page of the books.  The worst book ever is War and Peace.  We will get to read both during this challenge.

  1. My all-time favorite book is Johnny Got His Gun. My other favorites are too many to name. Worst? Hmmm, I can no longer remember its name, but it was a review book I received a couple of years ago. It was supposed to be a diary of a "bad girl" in the 80s. It was just revolting. I forced myself through it because I had to review it.

  2. I have to admit that I have never heard of Johnny Got His Gun, but now I have to check it out. The name alone has me curious...

    1. I read Johnny Got His Gun when I was in highschool. It was heavy reading for me at that time (too young probably). I've never talked to anyone else who has read that book. One of my favorite books is Rocket Boys by Homer Hickam. The movie October Sky was based on this book. Great story in both print and film.
